Our Sustainability Philosophy
At ANAR, we make no claim to solve all the world’s environmental challenges. Our mission is simple: to share the rich cultural heritage of the Uyghur people with the world in a spirit of respect. We believe, however, that true cultural heritage can only be sustained by honoring the land from which it was born.
Craftsmanship Rooted in Nature
Our pottery and hand-hammered copperware are created directly from natural elements. Artisans use clay sourced from the Aksu River in Xinjiang and raw copper, relying on low-carbon traditional techniques—shaping by hand, forging with human effort, rather than industrial machinery. Copperware is durable and infinitely recyclable, while our pottery is made without harmful industrial chemicals, with all pigments derived from natural stone powders.
Thoughtful Packaging Choices
To deliver these treasures of the Silk Road safely around the world, we use 100% recyclable cardboard for all outer packaging. This provides reliable protection while avoiding unnecessary plastic waste that burdens the environment.
Designed for Generations
Sustainability also means longevity. These are not disposable items. With gentle care—hand-washing breathable pottery and polishing copperware with natural ingredients such as lemon and salt—they will age gracefully alongside you. By preserving and continuing these crafts, together we keep the flame of culture alive for generations to come.
