FAQ

1. About Our Crafts

Q: Are these items really 100% handmade?
A: Yes, absolutely. Every piece of pottery and copperware is individually handcrafted by master artisans in the oases of Xinjiang, particularly in regions like Kashgar. We do not use industrial molds or assembly lines. What you receive is the direct expression of a craftsman’s hands and heritage.

Q: Why does my item look slightly different from the photos?
A: This is the beauty of true craftsmanship. Each piece is shaped, glazed, and engraved by hand, so slight variations in color, size, and pattern are natural. These are not imperfections—they are the artisan’s unique “fingerprints,” making your piece truly one of a kind.

2. Usage & Care

Q: Is the earth pottery safe for food and daily use?
A: Our glazed pottery is suitable for serving dry foods, fruits, and cold items. Due to traditional low-temperature firing methods, we recommend using them primarily as decorative or light-serving pieces.
Please do not use them in microwaves or dishwashers. Gently hand wash with water and dry immediately.

Q: How do I clean and maintain my copperware?
A: Natural copper develops a rich patina over time, which many collectors appreciate. If you prefer to restore its shine, gently rub the surface with a mixture of lemon juice and a pinch of salt, rinse with warm water, and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Q: Can I track my order?

Orders over $120 qualify for complimentary DHL Express shipping, allowing full tracking from our workshop to your doorstep.

4. Culture & Heritage

Q: What do the patterns on the pieces represent?
A: The motifs are deeply rooted in Uyghur culture and the Silk Road’s natural landscape. Common elements include:

Pomegranate seeds – unity and prosperity
Intertwining vines – continuity of life
Geometric patterns – harmony and spiritual balance

Each piece carries a symbolic blessing from the artisan to your home.

Q: How does my purchase support the artisans?
A: Your purchase provides direct income to the remaining master craftsmen in Xinjiang. More importantly, it helps sustain a living tradition—encouraging artisans to train apprentices and ensuring these ancient crafts continue for future generations.
